Kristina Pence-Dunow of Hometown Trolley, Crandon, was feature Keynote Speaker at Wisconsin Marketplace Governor's Award Ceremony

As keynote speaker, Kristina shared her insight on how MARKETPLACE, business certifications and resources helped her start, grow and sustain her business. Other keynote speakers included Craig Dretzka, President of UPI, LLC and Darren Fisher, Owner of SPEARity. 

 

Kristina Pence-Dunow, CEO and owner of Hometown Trolley, founded the corporation in 1992 in the small town of Crandon, Wisconsin. Hometown Trolley, a transit vehicle manufacturer (TVM), builds trolley buses for public and private transportation, delivering to locations across the U.S. and abroad. Kristina focused on keeping the company stable while raising her children for the past 26 years, with recent growth in the past five years that has quadrupled the size of the company. Hometown Trolley is the nation's only woman-owned TVM and is a certified disadvantaged business. Named 2017 Small business Person of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration, Kristina has strived to grow her company and brand to compete with manufacturers 10 times her size, while maintaining a high-quality product with a solid base of repeat customers. Kristina attributes the growth and success to her company to maintaining a personal connection with her employees and customers. 

 

Kristina was awarded Small Business Person of the Year 2017, 2017 Entrepreneur Of the Year, and is a Whitehouse Round Table invitee. Hometown Trolley is a certified DBE.
